This is actually our second blog. After discovering "Nugget News" I decided the blogs @ blogger.com were WAY cooler. Plus you can add video...because there are times when a photo just doesn't do a situation justice. The following is the first entry on our old blog dated 1-23-09. I'm posting it to give you a little history of our little miracle.
I've started this blog to make it easier for our family and friends to stay up-to-date with Tessa and what is going on in her life. Most of you know her story, for those of you who don't, here is how her life began.... My water broke on July 21st when I was only 23 weeks pregnant. Tony rushed me to the hospital where I stayed on bedrest until August 3rd. That morning I went into labor and Tessa was born via c-section at only 25 weeks. Once born, Tessa was transfered to All Children's Hospital's NICU. Her will to live was astounding and for the first three weeks of her life she continued to make AMAZING progress. On August 27th we were told that Tessa was very sick (a staph infection) and needed to be placed on 100% breathing support. Over the next two weeks she proved what a miracle she truly is. We were told twice that she may not make in another 24 hours. But God and Tessa had a different plan. Tessa began to improve and her doctors and nurses were amazed with her recorvery. On November 19th, we were able to FINALLY bring our baby girl home. Tessa was born weighing 1lb 15oz, 13.5 inches long. The day we brought her home she was 6lbs 3oz, 19 inches long.
